Deep Breath Yoga Community specialises in business and corporate yoga & meditation, coming from a corporate background ourselves we know from personal experience the benefits and increased work productivity created from having a regular practice in Yoga and Meditation.

Business can be stressful and tough, and at times we often find ourselves skipping meals, missing out on important family events, spending less quality time with family & friends, constantly checking our devices for emails, calls and messages and not to mention social media, we forget the NOW moments and there is just no ‘Switching off’.

All these things contribute to being in a stressful state.
This ‘state’ has become our normal and we do not even notice that we are highly stressed all the time. Until, that is, when our body cannot handle it anymore and completely shuts down on us. This has caused about a 16% increase in workplace stress leave and ‘Break Downs’ (See articles and references bellow on work-related stress leave, outlining the cost implications on employees)

half day workshop

A 4-hour workshop can be run at your office or off-site at a nearby location.

The workshop includes the following:

Meditation

We take you through the skills and knowledge required for meditation that you can use where ever you are.

Hatha Yoga

A 1.5 hr Hatha Yoga class will be conducted teaching the basics and alignments of each posture and learning how to practise at home.

Goal Setting

Throughout the day we bring focus and awareness to our goals, then we spend time bringing them together and being more clear a precise on what we want to achieve personally and in the workplace

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a deep relaxation and we will end our day letting everything we have learned/realised sink in and become apart of us and really learn to switch the body off, this is also a  great exercise for anyone who has trouble sleeping. Here we can really let go of any built up stress.

meditation

Running over 4 sessions of your choice of weekly, fortnightly or monthly we offer 1 hour or 30-minute Meditation classes.

Classes are offered at your office or off-site at a location nearby.

The space required is for enough room for everyone to be sitting on a chair comfortably.

We recommend making sure that the space in the office is away from distractions such us, clients and phone calls to really make sure we can focus on the practice.

hatha yoga

Running over 4 sessions of your choice of weekly, fortnightly or monthly we offer 1 hour or 45 minute Hatha Yoga sessions.

Classes are offered at your office at an off-site location nearby.

Space required is roughly 21 sq ft per person.

We recommend making sure that the space in the office is away from distractions such us, clients and phone calls to really make sure we can focus on the practice.

Hatha Yoga in particular works on the nervous systems, the Parasympathetic Nervous system (Rest and Restore) and the Sympathetic Nervous System (Fight or Flight).

We spend to much time in the Sympathetic Nervous System but not in the way we were designed. Thus our body is not healing and coping correctly.

In simple terms, this means our blood is continually going to our muscles rather than our organs to help restore them, which then results in illness.

Through Yoga and Meditation train the mind and teach the body to switch between the two systems with ease and more regularly, providing the body with the rest it needs to renew and restore, creating less illness and more productivity for work and home life.

An article in the Sydney Herald Sun from 2016 states – “Our data has shown a 15 percent increase in people taking stress leave and unapproved absences from work,” – Sally Kirkright, chief executive officer at Access EAP, a corporate psychology organisation.

Here is just a snippet from the latest report from Safe Work Australia.

What did we find?

  • The total cost of low levels of PSC to Australian employers is estimated to be approximately $6 billion per annum.
  • Workers in low PSC workplaces had significantly higher sickness absence and presenteeism than those in high PSC environments: they took 43 per cent more sick days per month and had a 72 per cent higher performance loss at work, equating to $1887 per employee per year in cost to employers.
  • The total cost of depression to Australian employers through presenteeism and absenteeism is estimated to be approximately $6.3 billion per annum.
  • Workers with severe depression took 20 times more sick days per month and had a 270 per cent higher performance loss than those without depression.
  • Depressed workers cost employers, on average, between $2791 per year (mild depression) to $23 143 per year (severe depression).
  • Workers with psychological distress took four times as many sick days per month and had a 154 per cent higher performance loss at work than those not experiencing psychological distress. This equates to an average cost of $6309 per annum in comparison with those not experiencing psychological distress.
  • Relative to workers with high engagement, workers with low engagement have approximately 12 per cent more sick days per month and an average performance loss of 8 per cent, costing employers $4796 per annum.

FAQ

Do we need any equipment?

No, we bring all equipment along with us.

Do staff need a change of clothes?

If you book for Hatha Yoga a change of clothes that are comfortable and flexible are best (gym wear is also appropriate).

For meditation, you do not need a change of clothes.

Also, we can always tailor yoga to suite if changing is not acceptable

Is there a minimum or maximum amount of people?

There is no minimum amount.

For Yoga sessions, the maximum is 30 people per session.

We have no maximum for Meditation.
